George Mitchell of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024, at the age of 67 years. He was born on November 1, 1957, in Red Deer, AB.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ike and May Mitchell, and is survived by his siblings, Donald (Sue), Susan, and Sandra; nephew David, niece Sarah Chapman, and her children, Ava and Simon.
George had a lifelong desire to learn and always put his best efforts into everything he did, which earned him recognition and respect throughout his life.
He was a military cadet in high school, where he received his first leadership certificate. He later earned a BA from the University of Calgary and an MA from Wilfrid Laurier University. George worked in the paint industry for over twenty-five years, earning the respect of colleagues and building longstanding friendships with many of those he met.
Later, George returned to college and completed his Criminal Justice Diploma with distinction. He ended his career working with the Commissionaires. George was the character of the family; he was loved and will be missed.
The family will be gathering privately to say farewell.
