Dear Family, thinking of you at this sad time with the loss of Jack.
Sincerely,
Linnea
We don’t always remember to tell our friends and coworkers that they have an impact on our lives, or appreciate their gestures. Jack was a great guy. He was a stand-up guy. He worked hard everyday. Although he was a very private person, when he would tell me stories from his life, he did so fondly, especially when he spoke of his family.
He would walk by my office daily, stop and look at me through the window. He would be smiling and then point towards the white board behind me. More specifically, smiling at where my name was in the office football pool. The poorer I did, the bigger the smile, it was never with malice, it was with a mutual understanding that I shouldn’t win. A daily gesture from a great stand-up guy that I will remember fondly.
To Jack’s family, I’m sorry for your loss and my sincere condolences.

Dear Family:
My sincere condolences of loosing Jack it was certainly too soon. Filled with life and laughter Jack always knew how to crack a joke in best times even if it was to break the tension. I knew Jack for six years and always enjoyed his company, chats and fatherly advice. To miss him isn't enough to remember the man he was is the best honor to offer. And will be honored in spades from all who knew and called a friend.
God Bless

I will always remember jack and a few of us sitting around allied limo sharing stories or talking sports I will always remember those times.
Jack reminded me of my own father in a lot of ways. He was strong, dedicated and someone I looked to as an example of how to be a good man. He was a positive influence on all his co-workers here at APL-Logistics - we could always count on him to do his job to the best of his ability. I often witnessed him offering his knowledge and experience to teach others to do their jobs well. He was instrumental in helping me with my own work duties and offered his advice in improving operations in the logistics department. I am thankful for his willingness to coach both new and experienced drivers in our operations. His passing is a great loss to our department and his presence will be missed. My condolences go out to his surviving family members and everyone who was lucky enough to have Jack touch their lives in a positive way.

My sincere condolences on the passing of a very special person. It is a profoundly sad loss and our memories of Jack will be with us always. I met Jack when he began work at Alberta Precision Labs in the spring of 2023 and was lucky enough to work along side him for the past year. I truly enjoyed getting to know Jack and to share my mornings with him. He was a special guy to me, an excellent driver and an even better man. I miss him.
I’m sorry for your loss, Jack was a wonder man. The short time I got to know him. I really enjoyed his company. I will miss him dearly.
Belinda Marshall
APL Driver in Edmonton. We use to meet in Red Deer every morning.
We have heard from many people who were touched by Jack's warmth and compassion, from his coworkers in Calgary and Edmonton to the receptionists at many of the sites Jack visited on a daily basis. He was liked by everyone and will be dearly missed. Condolences to all of Jack's coworkers, friends, and family.
I trained Jack on the Airdrie AM run when he first got hired. He had a lot of great stories about his time as a limousine driver and some of the celebrities he had in the back of the limo, including Wanye Gretzky, who according to Jack wasn't really very great. (-: He was really sharp and it seemed like he knew where we were going before we got there. He had a couriers gait and walked from A to B with purpose. He was a good man.
I haven't been able to find the words for such a tragic loss. Instead I wanted to share a memory I had with Jack. As the morning dispatcher I got to see Jack every morning. He would arrive the same time I did at 6am. His shift didn't start for another hour. I'd say Good morning Jack and usually it would be met by a grunt or a reluctant "morning". I loved this about Jack he would appear grumpy but occasionally you would get the chance to see that boyish smirk of his. He brought his of style of charm and wit with him to work every day. Jack was strong, he was funny, he was a hard worker and his dedication and love for his wife was beautiful.
Jack was a cherished member of our team at APL. We will miss him dearly. My heart is broken for all who loved him. Rest in Peace Jack.

Dispatcher at APL
I didn't know Jack well but found him to be friendly and an individual with positive qualities, an asset and a role model as an APL courier.
In closing, I'd like to include a quote from Stranger BY THE River by PAUL TWITCHELL, P.139
"If you know that death is only an illusion, then there is little need for thee to have cause for fear. Truth sustains you, and this clay temple is dissolved when the physical body wears out; but the Soul which owes its origin, life and growth to God, will remain forever in the highest mansion of the Lord."
My condolences to all of Jacks family and friends. On occasion I’d see Jack bright and early in the morning;5:00 am. He’d be at work getting prepared before me and I was the first shift. Jack and I would tell each other to drive safe as we both had longer drives. He will be missed by all of us at APL. RIP Jack
I am deeply saddened by the passing of Jack. He was not only a dedicated and hardworking member of our team, but also a kind and caring person who always went above and beyond. His positive attitude and commitment to his work will be missed by all of us who had the privilege of knowing him. Our thoughts are with you and your family during this incredibly difficult time.
With heartfelt sympathy,

I worked with Jack as a lab courier at APL. We had the same hours, so I got to see him every morning when we arrived at work and every afternoon when our work day was over. We always talked about what was going on in our day, and as 2 "old guys," what was going on in the world in general. Jack and I saw eye to eye on many things, and we usually had a little chuckle before we left for our daily routes. I had just returned to work on December 2 from 3 weeks vacation and Jack welcomed me back and asked how my time off was. My work day will be a little emptier without the few minutes I spent with Jack everyday. I am going to miss seeing him and talking to him. My wife and I send heartfelt condolences to Jack's wife and family. We are so sorry for your sudden loss.
