Obituary of Roderick Andrew MCDONALD

November, 24, 1926 – Wapella, SK July, 06, 2014 – Calgary, AB It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Roderick (Roy) McDonald on Sunday, July 06, 2014 at the age of 87 years. Roy was born and raised in the Wapella area. After trying his hand at a few different jobs in farming and trucking, he found his career when he started working for Economy Carriers in Calgary, AB. Roy enjoyed his family, his work and living in Calgary. Roy earned the friendship and respect of not only the people he worked with, but also the customers he came in to contact with. He was always willing to share his experience and knowledge with others. His smiling face, sense of humour, and storytelling will be missed by all. Roy is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Lorraine (nee Gordon); his son Howard (Faye); his grandchildren, Renee, Ashley and Matthew ; and his great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Friday, July 11 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
