Obituary of Beatrice Jane McLachlan

Beatrice McLachlan, beloved wife of the late John McLachlan, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the age of 93 years.

 

Beatrice was born in Calgary, AB, on December 6, 1931, and lived in the community of Ogden her entire life.

 

John and Beatrice were married in 1950. Together they raised four children and lived a simple, family-focused life. Beatrice particularly enjoyed family trips, including one to England and Scotland in 1976, Hawaii in 1979, and San Diego in 1982.

 

She was a member of the Ogden Legion and enjoyed playing darts with her friends and family there. She also loved her Friday night bingo at Five Star Bingo in Calgary.

 

Beatrice will be most remembered for the love she showed to her dogs over the years, especially Junior.

 

Beatrice is survived by her two sons, Brad (Linda) McLachlan and Kevin (Monika) McLachlan; son-in-law Lee Robertson, four grandchildren, Brad (Jill) McLachlan, Lisa (Mike) Gibbons, Rebecca Robertson, Vanessa McLachlan, and Kyle (Christine) McLachlan; six great-grandchildren, Mike Jr., Elenor, Madison, Blake, C.J., and Violet; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Beatrice was predeceased by her husband John McLachlan, son Kendall McLachlan, daughter Lynda Robertson, brothers, Ken (Marie) Nicholson and Josh (Margaret) Nicholson; and sister Dorothy (Leonard) Byers.

 

The family would like to extend their thanks to "The Bros on the Island" for their compassionate friendship with Beatrice over the years.
