Obituary of Jeanette Jacoba Marie Coombe

August 14, 1952 – Koog aan de Zaan, Netherlands

December 13, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Jeanette Coombe (nee Latenstein) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the age of 72 years.

A beloved mother, partner, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt, Jeanette lived her 72 years with her typical joy, zest, and humour, right until the end.

Jeanette was born in Koog aan de Zaan in the Netherlands in 1952 to parents Loukie and Jaap. She loved the beach and the sea, except when the seagulls would steal her lunch.

Her love of the outdoors continued after she immigrated to Canada in 1974, where she found joy in walking, skiing, and biking in her spare time.

Jeanette was a lifelong learner and loved to travel. She sought out new experiences from the different places she visited, whether it was in the Americas (North, Central, and South), Asia, or Europe. Whether at home or abroad, Jeanette had a special talent for bringing people together to share the joy of all the little moments in life.

Jeanette is survived by her daughter Michelle, son Roland, partner Allan, sister Titia, nephew David-Erik, brother Arend and sister-in-law Marja, niece Merel, and nephew Reiner; all of whom love her dearly and will miss her warmth and wit.

A Celebration of Jeanette’s Life will be announced at a later date.
