Obituary of David Peter Anderson

December 14, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
David Anderson, beloved husband of Winifred Elsie Anderson (nee Harrison), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the age of 92 years.
David was born in Edmonton, Middlesex, UK, on June 20, 1932. He married his beloved wife Elsie in 1954 and immigrated to Canada in 1958.
David was a Red Seal Chef and accomplished much throughout his life, being particularly proud of building a twenty-eight-foot ocean-going sailboat from scratch. David enjoyed reading science fiction, woodworking, fishing, gardening, camping, and painting.
He will be most remembered for being very well-read and for his ability to converse at a deep level on virtually any topic.
David is survived by his two sons, Stuart (Laura) of Matheson, ON, and Wade (Elizabeth) of Calgary, AB; five grandchildren, Amy, Lana, April (Mathew), James, and Dan (Carly Rae); and four great-grandchildren, Sophie, Autumn, Seth, and Seger.
David was predeceased by his loving wife Winifred Elsie (age 77).
A Memorial Service will be held at First Alliance Church (12345-40 Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Harvest Room at the Church.
Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Anderson’s service streamed live (link to come) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.
