Obituary of Sherry Lynn Szarka

It is with profound sadness that the family of Sherry Szarka announces her peaceful passing on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the age of 67 years, after battling cancer.

Sherry was born in Calgary, AB, on Saturday, May 4, 1957.  Sherry had many hobbies; she loved to paint, create her own crafts and spend most of her days tending to her garden, which was her pride and joy. She was a very independent and strong woman.

Sherry will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by many, including her mother Irene Szarka, who was her best friend; her brother John Szarka; her niece Elisha Markle and her family, Vonas Peterson, Skyler Peterson, Blake Peterson, and Gracie Peterson.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to Leste Srirka, the Cancer Society, and Southwood Hospice for their compassion and care for Sherry. A private celebration of life will take place later on, at the family’s request.
