Obituary of Susana Cayetano
November 11, 1950 – Urdaneta, Philippines
December 16, 2024 – Calgary, Canada
Susana Cayetano (née Tembreza) was born November 11, 1950, in Urdaneta, Philippines, into a large and loving family. She received her high school education in Urdaneta and then proudly completed a
degree in medical technology at Far Eastern University in Manila.
Ready and excited to seek her way in the world, Susana emigrated to Canada in the early 1970’s where she met her first love, Narciso, with whom she would spend the rest of her life with.
Susana loved all that life had to offer and when she was young, she enjoyed running. Her love of flowers, particularly orchids, provided her with beauty all her life. She loved animals and always said “a house is not a home without a dog”. Susana was an avid chef, always preparing sarap Filipino feasts for everyone. Traveling to many exciting places in the world brought Susana to England, France, and many memorable family trips to Nevada, New York, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, Montana, Utah, Oregon and California (these are just the ones we recall). Just last spring she was in Singapore as part of one of countless trip to her native Philippines which she dearly loved.
Susana always counselled everyone to “Live life simple” and this nurtured her genuine love of her extended family and many dear friends.
Susana was predeceased by her parents, Mariano and Trinidad, and her brother, Mariano Jr. She is survived by her loving husband Narciso, and sons, Alexander (Andrew) and Marlond (Russel); brothers, Arturo and Alfredo; and sisters, Digna and Corazon. The joy of Susana’s life was her beautiful grandson, Uriah, who was her most precious gift. Her little dog, Hugo, will greatly miss being greeted every morning by Susana.
Susana passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, surrounded by those who loved her the most.
Susana’s was a life well lived by a forever proud Filipina. We are comforted knowing she is at peace with her Lord Jesus, where she is happily visiting with her many ancestors and her two dogs, Niki and Maya.
Mother, may you find eternal peace and you will always be with us.
