Obituary of Ephraim Neamtu

January 17, 1927 – Kayville, Saskatchewan

December 16, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Ephraim “Eph” Neamtu, beloved husband of Eva Neamtu (nee Arnott), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, at the age of 97 years.

Born in Kayville, SK, Ephraim drove for Greyhound Bus for 34 years out of Regina. He retired on January 22, 1985. He enjoyed many years of travelling in his motorhome. He enjoyed golfing, curling, playing pool, playing cards, and taking long walks.

Ephraim is survived by his son Grant (Tanya), grandchildren; Thomas, Lisa (Rich) Froese, Lukas (Kacie), and Kurtis (Robyn), his four great-grandchildren; Hailey and Gavin Froese, and Noah and Winnie Neamtu, daughter-in-law Yvonne Neamtu, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Eva, son Glen, both of his parents, his brothers, Peter, John, and Victor; and his sisters, Ruby and Alice.

The family wishes to say a special thank you to all of the nurses, doctors and staff at AgeCare Midnapore for the care they gave to Ephraim.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.

Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Neamtu’s service streamed on the day of the service (see link below). For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.
