February 27, 1928 – Chichester, Quebec

December 19, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Kempton “Kemp” McDonald of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the age of 96 years.

Kemp is survived by his five children, Kim (Missy), Karen, Sandy, Brenda, and Todd; eight grandchildren, Cindy (Kory), Chad, Ashley (Jon), Sarah (Adam), Nicole, Cody, Jennifer (Braden), and Geoff; and ten adored great-grandchildren, Madison, Brayden, Taylor, Calvin, Stella, Hays, Harlow, Hudson, Brinley, and Lane.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Betty McDonald (nee Todd) on April 11, 2020, and his son-in-law Rob Stone on February 8, 2018.

Kemp worked for CP Transport for most of his career and retired at the age of 63. He enjoyed gardening and couldn’t wait for summer to arrive.

He loved spending time with his family and took great joy in teasing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren when he could. He had many friends in the neighbourhood who he appreciated talking to, but really enjoyed his visits with his friends and their dogs. He always had treats for them.

He lived a good and long life and as he would say, “AND THAT’S A TRUE STORY!”

Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Kemp’s family here.
