Obituary of Linda Rose Rae

October 24, 1958 – New Westminster, British Columbia

December 29, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Linda Rae (nee Jacobson) passed away the morning of Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the age of 66 years, after being released from a long battle with dementia with her family by her side.

Linda was a warm and gentle presence that people gravitated to throughout her life. She was a supportive, loving, selfless, patient, and nurturing mother to her children who were her entire world; to her, the title of “Mom” was her most important role.

One of her many talents was being an amazing cook and baker; her compassionate and kind heart always kept the neighbourhood kids hanging around in her kitchen. She became a second mother to many and remained so throughout all their milestones in life, always offering love and guidance.

Linda also treasured her granddaughter, Cyana. Nana’s love is a gift that Cyana will carry in her heart forever. Just days before her passing, she became “Nana” again to her new granddaughter Oakley, who we know she will love and guide as she grows through spirit.

She will be forever cherished by her children, Steve (Jess) and Tamara (Chris); granddaughters, Cyana and Oakley; her siblings, Dianne (Denis) and Gary (Leslie); and many extended family members and friends who she considered her family.

Linda was predeceased by her parents, Rose Jacobson and Arthur Jacobson, and her brother Butch Jacobson.

A Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held at a later date.
