Obituary of William Raymond Storey

July 12, 1956 – Storeytown, New Brunswick

January 4, 2025 – Calgary, Alberta

William Storey, beloved husband of Mary Storey (nee Clark), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the age of 68 years.

William was born in Storeytown, NB, on July 12, 1956. He moved to various cities in Canada before settling in Calgary, AB, in April 1981. 

William graduated from high school in Oromocto, NB. After settling in Calgary, he worked on getting his Building Operations A ticket and worked in a number of office towers in downtown Calgary until his retirement. 

William married Mary in 1976. 

He loved to do home renovations and woodworking. He also liked to fish with his friend Nuno, and when on holidays in BC, he and his brothers-in-law enjoyed fishing at the lake, and he enjoyed going to Ottawa to see family and fish with his brother. His most memorable vacation was when he went back to his hometown to visit with family whom he hadn’t seen in years and toured around New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

He will be most remembered for being a dad to Ashleigh. The two of them were inseparable, whether they went on vacation together, for drives to the mountains, to BC, or just together at home. He was a “Super Dad”. 

Besides his loving wife, William is survived by his adored daughter Ashleigh. William is also survived by his mother Helen, one brother Elbey (Lori), two sisters, Elsie Philion and Ellen Storey, all of Ottawa; three sisters-in-law, Kathy Durante (Joe) of Priddis, AB, Trish Clark (Sal) of Calgary, Joyce Beckett of St. Catharines, ON; and brother Richard of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

William was predeceased by his father Raymond Storey, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Knobby (Roland) and Jeanette Clark; uncle Earl Bruce, and cousins, Marilyn Wilson and Jeanie Paley.
