Wendy Daniels

Obituary of Wendy Ronaline Daniels

April 26, 1942 – Calgary, Alberta

January 5, 2025 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wendy Ronaline Daniels (nee Drinkle) at the age of 82 years. After a twelve-year battle with Alzheimer's and several bouts of COVID-19, Wendy passed away peacefully in her sleep.

Wendy was born in Calgary, AB, however, she spent the majority of her life in Saskatoon, SK, where she attended Bedford Road Collegiate. There she met and married Donald Hunter, raised her kids, Trent and Todd, and worked for many years with the Saskatoon Board of Education.

Wendy was a very social person and seemed to know everyone in Saskatoon, where she enjoyed volunteering at the airport to welcome and reunite families for the holidays.

Wendy eventually moved back to Calgary in 1999 where she met, and married, Michael Daniels. Wendy's passions in life were her kids, her dogs, and working in her yard. She was a strong-willed woman and when she set her mind to something, you could be certain she would make it happen.

Wendy will be loved and missed by her husband, Michael Daniels, her sons, Trent Hunter (Kathleen) of Cobourg, ON, and Todd Hunter of Calgary, AB, as well as her grandchildren, Amanda, Brandon, and Jenna. Wendy will also be loved and remembered by her brother, Harvey (Linda) Drinkle of Regina, SK, and extended family Sharon (Brian Ironside) of Edmonton, AB, and Raymond Hunter (Kim) of Richmond, BC.

At Wendy’s request, there will not be a service at this time, but we ask that you remember her in your own special way.

The family wishes to thank the staff at AgeCare Mckenzie Towne for their care of Wendy over the years.

Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Wendy’s family here.

In living memory of Wendy Daniels, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB T2Z 4E6, Telephone: 403-203-0525.
