Condolences
Sorry to hear of Al's,passing. Got to know him when I was a broadcaster with CFDR and the Nova Scotia Voyageurs in the 1970's Had great respect for his strong leadership qualities and all he gave to the sport of hockey, not to mention the many accomplishments. Sincere sympathy to his family. God Bless. Kevin Reid, New Glasgow, N.S.
I have so many fond memories of Al from the year I broadcast the Flames games. He was always friendly and kind gracious. My wife and I still talk about the night you two and the Pages came for dinner. May God's peace be with you and all the family.

To Norma, Allister and Allison, as well as extended family. The Hunter family is thinking of you and send condolences on your loss of Al.
I was saddened to hear of Al's passing.
I had the privilege of playing for four seasons under Al's tutelage with the Nova Scotia Voyageurs from 1973 to 1977. Al was a dedicated coach who brought out the best performances from his players. He was well-liked and equally well-respected. Countless players have Al to thank for their success moving through the Voyageurs' pipeline to their accomplishments with the Canadiens. I am sure the same values and dedication marked his years in the Flames' organization as well. Most importantly, he was a "character" guy with a strong moral compass evident to all. His passing is a loss for the hockey world and of course for his family.
My sincerest condolences to Norma and family.

Sorry to hear of your passing. Wrote you a fan letter c/o The Flames in the '90s, only to have it go unanswered. (For which I forgave you many years ago). Really enjoy hearing about, seeing highlights of the 1971 Stanley Cup playoffs; it's amongst my favourite highlight videos! Sorry that I could not forward items for autographing purposes when a signing was sponsored by AJ Sports world. That aside, you should be in the Builders section of the Hockey Hall of Fame!!
Rest in peace!!
