Obituary of Lina Iannuzzi

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lina Iannuzzi (nee Infusino) of Calgary, AB, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the age of 92 years.

Lina was born on January 1, 1933, in Rende, Cosenza, Italy to loving parents Angela Minervina and Domenico Infusino. She was the 4^th of 10 children.

She met her husband Francesco of 68 years as a teenager, and they married on October 6, 1956. She later immigrated to Canada with her husband and son Antonio, arriving in Calgary, AB, in early June 1962.

Lina was a hard worker and was employed at numerous jobs, including Poultry Processing and as a housekeeper at Carewest Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre for 17 years. She always brought a smile to all the residents and staff who worked with her.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. By far the greatest passion in her life was cooking for and spending time with her family and friends. She loved to garden, which included her vegetables and especially her flowers.

Lina is survived by her husband Francesco, sons Antonio (Caterina) Iannuzzi and Giuseppe Iannuzzi; grandchildren, Franco, Marco (Jenn), and Carlo (Breanna); as well as great-grandchildren, Isla, Violet, Miles, Penelope, and Willa. She is also survived by brother Ernesto (Maria) Infusino, sister-in-law Maria Infusino, and sister-in-law Maria Iannuzzi of Calgary. She is further survived by siblings, Francesco, Ida, Santo, Mario, and Maria of Italy, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was predeceased by her brother Giuseppe, her sister Innocenza, and brother Rocco.

A special thank you to Dr. Katherine Savoia for her exceptional care and unwavering support over the years. An extended thank you goes to Dr. Zapeda, Dr. Fine, and their team at the South Health Campus and Peter Lougheed Hospital. As well, a special thank you to Alivio Care and home caregivers, Larysa and Oksana.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary Mother of the Redeemer (1714 14 Ave NE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Entombment services to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery Mausoleum (3219-4th Street NW, Calgary AB).
