Obituary of Linda Jane Williams

July 12, 1950 – Calgary, Alberta

January 8, 2025 – Calgary, Alberta

With sadness, love, and profound gratitude, the family of Linda Jane Williams, beloved wife of David Williams, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the age of 74 years.

Linda was born in Calgary, AB, on July 12, 1950. Linda will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 26 years, David; her mother, Marian Anderson; her sons, Jim Treherne (Melissa) and Paul Williams (Gaya); her daughters, Katie Steele (Nathan) and Coralie Remus (Todd); her eleven grandchildren, Liam, Lexi, Michael, Clayton, Jonathan, Olivia, Trayer, Kaleb, Eesha, Imandi, and Alysia (Tristin); her great-grandson, Kayden; her brother, Dave Anderson (Lorna); her sisters, Valerie van den Brink (Corry), and Cindy Tymko (Richard);  her sister-in-law, Dy Lounds; and her large extended family.

Linda was predeceased by her father Robert Anderson, her brother Robert Anderson, her sister Sheila Rocks, and her brother-in-law George Rocks.

Linda's greatest joy was family. She loved to spend countless hours creating beautiful memories with her children and grandchildren. Many of these family memories were made while travelling the world. She crafted unique handmade cards and loved her Pinterest DIY crafts. Evenings were spent relaxing on the swing in the backyard, watching all the birds at the feeders, in the birdhouses, and the resident team of squirrels. Linda provided a space full of love, laughs, and comfort to all who entered her home. There was always a board game or jigsaw puzzle on the go, chips with dill dip on the table, and a bottle of Fireball in the cupboard. She also had a passion for researching her family ancestry and Metis heritage.

A Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of The Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.

“The most beautiful thing about her was all the hope that she carried in her heart. People like her turn everything they touch, into Love.”

- Caroline White

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Unit 36 at Foothills Medical Centre for the compassionate care that they provided.
