Condolences
Deepest sympathy for Robin's family, friends, teammates and workmates. I've had the pleasure of Robin's presence in our dressing room and on the ice at Sunday morning hockey for the past 8 years. A true gentleman who thoroughly enjoyed the game and with a fantastic attitude, Always smiling and kind words of encouragement for everyone. We will all sorely miss his insightful & comedic contributions to the "pre" and "post" game banter.
I had only got to know Robin and Carole over the last 5 years but they had become some of my favourite people to spend time with. Robin was very kind and genuine and was so easy to be around. Our family of three spent some time with them this past summer at Christina Lake. Two of us were surfing newbies but Robin had us up and surfing after only a couple of tries and that made him so happy! I will cherish the memories we made on that trip along with others we created with Robin and Carole. I am so deeply sorry for his passing.
Robin was an absolute joy to know and to work with. Through our many years and many projects at Fortis, Robin was always cheerful, always kind, and always thrilled to dig into the details. His innate curiosity would shine through with every “tell me more!” My heartfelt condolences go to Carole and all Robin’s loved ones. It was an honour to have him in our lives.

I have had the pleasure to play hockey with Robin every Sunday morning. I will always remember his conversations on the bench and on the ice before we drop the puck. He would always ask me if I was ready for another game, and how my week was.
A true gentleman.
Please accept my condolences.
As Joe has said so well and as a fellow member of the stone hands club, it was always an absolute pleasure sharing Sunday mornings at the rink with Robin. His smile was ever present and his delight in the experience was infectious.
One of the measures of a person is how they’re spoken about when they’re out of earshot. I wish Robin could have been a fly on the wall in our dressing room. He was universally respected and appreciated and he’ll be deeply missed.
My deepest condolences to his loved ones and all who had the pleasure to know him. .
I'm part of the Sunday hockey crew as well. I was completely shocked and saddened by this horrible news. Joe is absolutely on the mark with his description of Robin. Win or lose, good or bad game, he would have a smile and encourage everyone on the ice. A recent puck in the face and some stitches may have distorted his smile but could certainly not remove it. He was one of the most gentlemanly and humble players I’ve had the pleasure of skating with. Sunday hockey won’t be the same. I can only imagine the holes he is leaving behind outside of the rink.
I am so sorry to hear about Robin's passing. He was a wonderful manager during the time we worked together at Fortis. Robin always took the time to listen, and he was a constant source of support. You could always count on him for help, and his genuine smile and warm personality made a lasting impression. I appreciated his interest in getting to know others, and his stories about his family and his love for Christina Lake were always so heartwarming. Robin will truly be missed by all who had the privilege of working with him. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
I was shocked to hear of Robin’s passing today. I have known Robin for the past 16 years and he was my IT project supervisor these past 2 years. He was very supportive of what I needed as we both had the common goal of delivering value to the business. Robin had tremendous respect for all his colleagues. I will miss our weekly in person coffee meetings. At our last coffee meeting on Tuesday he shared what a great holiday break he had with all of his family and how proud he was of his daughter pursuing additional studies while waiting for an opportunity for a post graduate placement. My sincere condolences to the family.
As a member of the Sunday hockey crew that Robin enriched each week, I must say that he was beloved by us all. Robin carried himself with such grace and kindness - always offering an encouraging word and always with a smile. Robin was a smart player, but beautifully and hilariously self-deprecating. He and I would often commiserate on the bench, lamenting our respective hands of stone and lack of skill. He was just one of those guys who was so easy to be around. He was authentic, genuine, humble. And, he was hard-working and dedicated. Though I didn't know Robin away from the ice, I am certain that his attributes followed him in all walks of life. I will miss him dearly. Sending wishes of comfort to all those who loved Robin. He truly made this world a better place.
Robin - you were the person I looked to for every piece of advice. When there were rocky seas, you brought steadfast sails that made everything feel calm. When I needed a space, I came to you and Carole. And when I needed someone to believe in me, you never let me back on the surf boat without telling me “one more. You’re gonna get it.” You have endlessly made an impression on my life and to everyone’s lives you were a part of. You were reliable and kind - and had the greatest laugh. It is a laugh I will remember for the rest of my life. Thank you for being part of this earth and for loving my best friend in such a way, it is a love that we will look upon with awe for the rest of our lives. You were truly an amazing person and I wish we had more time together and I could see you surf once more. I will miss you my friend. My heart will never recover from the loss of you and I hope that we meet again on the other side.
I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Robin. I had the privilege of working alongside him, and he was an incredible colleague—kind, dedicated, and always willing to support others. His impact on me, the team, and those who knew him was immense, and he will be so greatly missed. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones. Rest in peace, my friend. Your kindness and dedication will continue to inspire all of us who were fortunate to know you.
I worked with Robin for 10 years at Fortis. He was always my "go-to" guy when I wanted some sound and sane advice on work issues. I loved his enthusiasm for life, and he was a huge asset to our work family. He will be greatly missed by his work team. Personally, I will miss seeing that beautiful smile. Rest easy, Robin. You will forever be a member of our team.
I would like to send my deepest condolences to my friend Robin and his family. I played ball hockey and skied with Robin during our days at CPR. We had mutual friends and I always enjoyed his friendly demeanor and the great conversations we had amongst friends. Robin will be deeply missed and always remembered for his great smile & nature, easy going personality and friendliness to anyone he met.
