Obituary of Lt. Col David Albert Brown OMM, CD
November 20, 1942 - Fort Macleod, Alberta
January 13, 2025 - Calgary, Alberta
David Brown of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025, at the age of 82 years.
If you are reading this—I have passed away after living a full and rewarding life.
As a high school drop-out from Fort Macleod, I joined the Air Force, met and married a beautiful French-Canadian girl—Claire Marceau, and we were blessed with a great son Bruce who married his loving wife, Lana. After 31 years of military service, we ended up living in Calgary for the remainder of our life together but unfortunately, Claire passed away, unfairly, long before me in 2018.
We were lucky to have lived a good life as I progressed from a Private in the RCAF and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel with a reasonable pension and some good investments to allow us to live our lives comfortably. We were also blessed with the best grandchildren anyone could wish or hope for, Keana (a nurse) and Jorden (a financial expert) along with his loving wife Kirin. Although I didn’t say it often enough Claire and I loved our son, grandchildren, and all the relatives and friends we had or made during our lifetime.
With my passing, we are now together forever, enjoying the peace and comfort of being with our maker.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB) on Sunday, January 19, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
