Obituary of Kim Donald Benson

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kim Donald Benson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Kim passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, in Calgary, AB, at the age of 73.

Kim was born on September 17, 1951, in Woodstock, NB, to his loving parents, Donald and Jean Benson. Throughout his life, Kim’s warmth, kindness, and sense of humour touched the lives of many. He delighted in meeting new people and sharing stories.

Kim had a lifelong passion for the natural world and remained enthusiastic about embracing new technologies. A man with a natural curiosity, Kim’s interests were diverse. Kim was an avid gardener, a skilled handyman, a talented craftsman, a motorcycle rider, and a pilot of remote-control airplanes.

Kim is survived by his devoted wife, Colleen Benson, with whom he shared many wonderful years. He leaves behind his cherished children, Phillip and Martha Benson, who brought immense pride and joy to his life. Kim was also a proud grandfather to Stafford and Beatrix Benson, who will always remember his love and wisdom.

Kim’s siblings, Kirk, Jill, Mark, and Lynn Benson, mourn the loss of their dear brother, who they remember with love and fondness.

The family will be holding a private gathering in his honor to celebrate Kim’s life and the indelible mark he left on his friends and loved ones. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Rest in peace, Kim Donald Benson. You will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
