Obituary of Seena Adricana GARVEY

March 1, 1915 – Medicine Hat, AB June 11, 2014 – Calgary, AB Seena Garvey passed away on June 11, 2014 at the age of 99 years, ending a life well lived. Seena was born in Medicine Hat, AB, the fourth of six children. After completing school, she attended Teachers College in Calgary. In 1945, she married John Owen Garvey and moved to the far north being posted in Chesterfield Inlet, Baker Lake, Churchill and Port Harrison. She taught school and Jack worked as a radio operator. In 1957, with five children they moved to Winnipeg where Seena continued to teach school. In 1985, they moved to Calgary to be closer to the grandchildren. Seena loved her family more than anything. Seena is survived by her children, John Garvey (Nonnee), Cory Fodchuk, Patti Weldon (Kevin Taylor), Henry Garvey and Gerry Garvey (Kathy); seven grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband John Owen Garvey in 2010. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
