Obituary of Lillian Ruth TONITA

October 16, 1926 – Hamilton, ON June 7 2014 – Calgary, AB Lillian Ruth Tonita of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the age of 86 years. Lillian, born in Hamilton, Ontario, was the sixth of thirteen children born to Sidney Adams and Maggie Williamson. Lillian met her husband shortly after WWII, and moved to the farm in Saskatchewan where she learned many new skills. Lillian was known for her work ethic, her kindness to others and her grit in times of adversity. Lillian was a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. She loved music and dancing. She made hundreds of jigsaw puzzles. Lillian loved to keep her hands busy and created beautiful quilts and slippers that became legendary. Her children remember with admiration her efficiency, her energy and her generosity. The jewels in her crown were her children and grandchildren and had these on display until the time of her death. Lillian is survived by her daughters Shirley and Bonnie and her son Lawrence. She has eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased both by her husband Christopher and her daughter Holly in 2005. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
