Obituary of Linda Lee BLACKIER
March 20, 1965 – St. Stephen, New Brunswick
May 26, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta
Linda Lee Blackier, beloved daughter, mother, and friend, passed away on Monday, May 26th 2014 after a long battle with cancer. She was 49.
Born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, on March 20, 1965, she grew up in the neighboring town of St. George, NB. During her years at Fundy High School she was very studious and was active in many sports; curling being a favourite. She moved to Western Canada after graduating from St. Andrews community college. Her last work place was Prema Sai Wholistic Living, where she was the general manager. Her passion for her work allowed her to truly connect with her staff and clients to make a difference in the lives of those she touched. Her steadfast nature, dependability in times of need, and care for others beyond herself made her an irreplaceable friend and family member. Even in her final days she showed immense strength, always taking care of her children first even when she needed to be taken care of herself.
She raised three daughters, Samantha (21) Kelsey (19) and Veronica (17) Makeiff, their father being Jeffrey Makeiff. She is also survived by her mother and father, Edmund and Eleanor Blackier, her in-laws Jean and Ed Regan, her loving grandfather “Pépère” Edmond Blackier Sr., her four younger siblings Angela, Kim, Chris, and Vanessa, and nieces and nephews, and extended family. She was predeceased by her loving grandmother “Mémère” Irene Blackier.
Special thanks to Kathy and her family, Charis, Lara, and Pam for the love and support they have provided, along with countless of other special family friends, loving coworkers, and participants in the Landmark Forum.
A fundraiser has been set up to help her three daughters with living expenses, and will be open until July at loveforlinda.net
