HICKS, Frances Katherine A.N.S.C.A. “90 Years Young” February 6, 1924 – Muskegon, Michigan March 22, 2014 – Calgary, AB Pre-deceased by husband Archie in 1978. Fran leaves a much-loved family: sons, Bruce (Lorene), Bountiful, UT, Brian (Ann), Calgary, AB, Daughter: Bonnie Friesen (Ron), Winnipeg, MB, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Donna Aronovitch, Montreal, QC. Passed brothers: Noble, Bob, Fred. Fran began in naval mapping in Halifax during WW2, marrying Archie, an RCN ship’s engineer on Atlanic duty. She worked in industrial design, then enjoyed a career in design with the Ontario gov’t. An accomplished artist, she much enjoyed playing cards and the fellowship shown her at the Okotoks senior’s bridge club. Private memorial service for family and friends at St. James, Priddis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Calgary Humane Society at 4455 110th AVE SE, Calgary, Alberta T2C 2T7 or Diabetes Society at .
