Obituary of Samir Ranjan MAJUMDAR

November 26, 1936 – July 6, 2018 Samir Majumdar passed away on July 6, 2018, at the age of 81 years. Dr. Majumdar was born in Chittagong, Bangladesh (formerly India). He studied in India and England, earning two PhD’s in Mathematics. His teaching career began in Arizona and, after a few years, he and his wife moved to Calgary where they remained. Dr. Majumdar had a successful career teaching mathematics at the University of Calgary, he and his wife were also active members of the Bangladesh community. Dr. Majumdar was predeceased by his two beautiful children, Mithu and Mimi. Left to mourn are his wife Anjali, his daughter-in-law, Anisa, his two grandchildren, Jasmin and Jaden, as well as many extended family and friends in North America and India. Thank you to all the health professionals who treated him over the past year. A special thank you to Mousumi and Tushar Benerjee for all their love and care of Dr. Majumdar and his wife over the last many years and especially over this last difficult year. A Celebration of Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, ) on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home.
