Condolences
I served with Jack at Hay River Detachment. We later met up a few occasions in southern BC and central BC. Had some great times. I nicknamed him “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”, after his initials and the “Stones”. We holidayed together. Whatever the weather he could always laugh & smile. I moved to the east coast. I searched google for him a number of times over the years hoping to get back in touch. Checked phone directories. I often thought of him. Now, tonight, I learn of this very sad news. Damn sad news. He was a fine man and a great friend.
Saddened to learn of Jack’s passing. Have many memories of our passage of time at Fort Nelson Detachment. I pray that you have found peace Jack.

I worked for Cpl. Jack Dorey on Rural in Prince George in 1986. I was his first female subordinate. He was a very supportive and understanding boss. I am so sorry to hear of his passing, he left us much too young. Our service to the RCMP encompasses our entire being – hearts, lives and soul. We give our all to the Force, which at times may cause the taking of our lives too soon. We try to do our best – (” We always get out Man” ) the best that we as humans are capable of. My treasured memories of Jack will never leave me. My Condolences and Blessings to his family and loved ones. Jack will see you again soon. Thanks for your guidance. Marion Davis rtd. Cpl. 35803
Cheers Jack, we will reunite one day soon.
Was stationed at Prince George Det. in the 80’s while Jack was I/C
Rural Detail. Jack was also a very good curler and was quite passionate about the game. I curled on his team with two other members. We won the Sub/Division play downs and missed winning the Provincial final at the North Shore Winter Club in Vancouver by one quarter of an inch. Good times and memories.
Our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy to all of Jack’s family. Mr. Dorey (Jack) was like uncle to me growing up. I have very fond memories of him. Rest in peace!

We have only good memories of Jack and his warmth and outgoing friendliness. Loved his Christmas newsletters and his knowledge of the importance of family. His boys and their families were the biggest part of his world and the Winnipeg Doreys will always be grateful for the visit with Lynn and Fran when he knew that his health was spiralling down. We’ll miss that guy. Love from Liz, Tom and Paul. Uncle Rudy sends his love as well.
Our sincere condolences to Jack’s family. We saw him at Mara either on a snowmobile or at the cabin at Mara Lake. He enjoyed life to the fullest and his appetite for lemon meringue pie and hearty laughter will be forever with us.
Our deepest sympathy to Jack’s family. He was a wonderful friend and will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, dear Jack.

Jack worked with my brother in law John Gilbert, and I met Jack from time to time over the years from 1968 on. I was 15 when I first met him and always found him to be an absolutely great person, not to mention physically imposing from my short stature. But his laugh and friendliness were even more imposing. Our heartfelt condolences to his family.

Our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy to all of Jack’s family.
Death leaves a heartache
no one can heal;
Love leaves a memory
no one can steal.
Til we meet again, Jack.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Jack’s mother and his sister, Fran, whom we met at Bobby & Sophie’s place a few years ago. We will always remember Jack as a kind and gentle man with much humour. We cleaned Jack’s apartment when he lived across from the football stadium. May his memory live in your hearts forever.
Blessings especially to his children and grandchildren.
