Obituary of Robert John KERR

August 10,1949 – Prince Albert, SK February 25, 2014 – Calgary, AB Bob Kerr passed away on Tuesday, February, 25, 2014, at the Carewest Centre at Garrison Green in Calgary. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Bob attended Viscount Bennett and Ernest Manning high schools in Calgary and went on to S.A.I.T. where he received a diploma in commercial baking. He ultimately achieved the status of Journeyman Baker. Bob faced many challenges in his life and through these challenges he met many people. He had a great sense of humour and armed with his humour, complimented often with a batch of cookies or a pie, he brought a smile to and touched the hearts of many. He received numerous recognition awards for his volunteer activities as he reached out to help others. The family gives special thanks to the many caregivers who supported Bob and especially to those at Carewest Garrison Green where he spent his final days. Bob will be greatly missed by his wife Diane; sons Shawn (Julie),Cory (Sara)and Neil; brothers Bill (Margaret) and Gord (Joanne); grandchildren Barbara, Kayleigh, Aaron, Nicole, Patrick, Matthew and Nathan and his neices and nephews Nikki (Darren), Tisha (Todd), Steve (Joanie), Kevin (Lindsay) and Dan. A service in Bob’s memory will be held at the First Alliance Church (12345 40th Street S.E.) on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 11am in the Harvest Room. Memorial Donation’s may be made in Bob’s name to the Carewest Foundation www.carewest.ca. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
