John was born in Fonte Alto, Italy on May 1, 1936. He immigrated to Canada alone in 1954, at the age of 18 years. Johnny was very proud of his 40 years of work as an artistic stonemason for Pockar Masonry until his retirement. He then pursued his passion for music (especially Opera), golf (including a hole in one) and weekly trips to the casino. Johnny enjoyed living in Bridgeland all of his life – and it was memorable that it was in Bridgeland at the George Boyack where he passed away. John is survived by his sisters in Italy, Gina (Achille) Montagner, Assunta (Livio) Guadagnini and Dorotea (Adriano) Tessari; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends both in Italy and Canada. Johnny remained close to his family all his life, visiting them whenever he could. His three sisters also visited him here in Calgary. As per John’s wishes no service will occur in Calgary. Cremation has taken place and John will be returned to Fonte Alto by Norma and Joanne as he requested. Interment will take place with his parents and other family members.
