Obituary of Patrick Joseph MANNAS

1956 – Grande Prairie, AB 2014 – Calgary, AB Patrick Mannas of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the age of 57 years. Patrick graduated from the University of Alberta and lived in Calgary. Pat loved to fish and was preparing for his next fishing trip when he slipped away. Pat loved good food and a good tale and was happy to brag about his children and nephews to anyone who would listen. Patrick is survived by sons Jordon and Miles (Heather); sister Patricia, brother Michael (Carol) and nephews Kavanagh (Elizabeth), Walsh (Erin) and Neuman (Kelsey). Patrick was a loving father, brother and uncle. He was much admired for his extraordinary bravery living in the world with a debilitating mental illness. His example of kindness and dignity will be forever remembered. The family would like to thank Dr. DeVries who was Pat’s friend and psychiatrist throughout his illness and whose remarkable caring and concern made all of our lives better and richer.
