Obituary of Heather Jane BURROWES

1951 – Orillia, ON 2014 – Calgary, AB It is with regret that we announce the death of Heather Burrowes at home on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at the age of 62 years after a lengthy illness. Heather was born August 13, 1951 in Orillia, Ontario. From an early childhood she demonstrated the spirit and determination for which she would be admired the rest of her life. In 1960, her family moved to Cobourg, Ontario. Her passion for art took her Humber College where she graduated in Interior Design. She promptly headed west for Calgary where she found work in interior design, ultimately employed for many years at Walls Alive and Metro Wallcoverings. Heather loved the outdoors especially hiking and skiing in the mountains around Calgary. In her spare time she volunteered at church and was particularly proud of having been a volunteer for the 1988 Winter Olympics. Heather is survived by her beloved husband, Andrew; daughter, Anna; her brother, Bob Parry and his wife Anne of Burlington, ON; her nephew, David Parry; her many in-laws, nieces and nephews of the Burrowes family, as well as her many good friends. Heather was predeceased by her parents, Helen and Jack Parry. A Celebration of Heather’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Caregivers Association, www.albertacaregiversassociation.org or the charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank Lina Montemayor who has been Heather’s caregiver providing her with exemplary care and comfort over the past several years. Special thanks go out to friends and family for their support over the past seven years.
