Obituary of Donald Maurice PUJO

June 19, 1945-Winnipeg, MB December 22, 2013-Calgary, AB It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected yet peaceful passing of Don Pujo on Sunday, December 22, 2013, surrounded by his family at the age of 68 years. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten by his loving wife, LaRay Pujo; his children, Robert (Lise) Pujo, Chantal Pujo (Brian Hahlweg), Dominique Pujo (Brad Johnston); his step-daughter, Chris Erin Edmundson (Colin “Tug” Wilson); his dearly loved grandchildren, Zachary and Janique Pujo, Kiera and Riana Hahlweg, Eliza, Ruby and Charlotte Wilson; his siblings, Paul (Mary-Irene) Pujo, Aline Pujo, Laurette Pujo (Tod Moore), Roger (Edith) Pujo, Valerie Lalonde, Louise Pujo (Tim Hibbard), Marc Pujo; his brother-in-law, Byron (Cheryl) Davidson of Fargo, ND; his nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Don was predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Jeannette Pujo. Don was born in Winnipeg, MB on June 19, 1945 the fourth of eight children. He was raised in Saint-Boniface where he attended the St.Boniface College. Between studies and odd jobs, he always made time for his friends, billiards and the odd bit of mischief. Don’s career in accounting started in Winnipeg at James Richardson & Sons, Ltd. His 22 year career with them was spent primarily in the Real Estate division. He spoke fondly of his time there and often pleased his kids with trips up to the observation deck to see the view from Winnipeg’s tallest building at the time. Outside of work, he could be heard singing bass for several years with La Chorale des Intrepides. In 1989, Don moved to Calgary to start life with LaRay and experienced great joy and happiness in their life together. He dabbled in self-employment for a short time before he became employed by Jayman Homes and later by its sister company, Wen-Di Interiors. The last years of Don’s career were spent as general manager of CL Marketing where he was especially fortunate to work alongside his brother, Roger. Over the years, Don was able to enjoy many interests including: curling, golfing and travels as far as China and the Middle East. He also developed a taste for local artworks and fine wines. Since retirement, he worked diligently on his crosswords while sipping his morning coffee. Don was fiercely loyal and dedicated in all areas of his life. He was very kind and always put the needs of others ahead of his own. He faced his illness with dignity and rarely complained. He was a quiet man, often of few words, but those he chose to speak were always deliberate and meaningful. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. It was felt by each of them. The family would like to thank the staff at the Rocky View Hospital ICU for their compassionate care. Our greatest gift…we called him Don, Dad, Pops, Grandpa, Papa. We will love you and miss you forever.
