Obituary of John Donald MAILANDER

1937 – Regina, SK 2013 – Calgary, AB Our very dear husband, father, grandfather and uncle passed away after critical heart surgery on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the age of 76 years. Jack was born and raised in Regina, and had a long career in the oil patch, starting out with Sohio Oil as a draftsman. He moved to Hudson’s Bay Oil and Gas, and then got transferred as an oil scout to Calgary in 1963. He went on to be one of the best landmen in the industry. He was a very kind and loving man, with a wonderful sense of humour, and an awesome memory. Jack’s greatest joys were his children and grandchildren. He had many friends and will be dearly missed by all. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ruby; daughters and son-in-laws Debbie (Mike) White, Lynn (Doug) Whitten, Cheryl (Mark) Sampson, Laurel (Randy Moore) Mailander; along with grandchildren Jenna and Mary Whitten, Connor White and Jaedin Sampson.
