Condolences
Never will we forget the wonderful times at 6328 Crowchild Trail, particularly the crazy Christmases when Cliff and Jay’s kids were growing and the house was full. Santa’s appearance was mandatory, in whatever red garment was available and once, even shaving cream used to create his white beard! I can still see Leif over Mom’s (Sylvia) shoulder discussing how the norwegian meatballs, and the Lutafisk should be cooked, those dishes served late in the evening with delicious lefse. Leif’s forte was his prime rib which was smeared with his ingredients (still listed in my recipes) and was regularly basted with beer from the bottle he was drinking. The best prime rib I have and ever will, taste! What a wonderful uncle – taking us in his covertable when we were all visiting Trygve & Erna’s farm, his horse bets and gambling, and so many fun times when he visited the Goeres in Harvie Heights after a golf game with my dad Ray.
Our extreme condolences especially this time of year.
So sorry to hear about Leif’s passing. He was one of those characters you will never forget. Sending hugs from the Petersen family…

We want to express our sincere condolences to Cliff, Jay and their families.

Saying goodbye to Uncle Leif leaves me with a heavy heart. He had such a “flavorful” soul, and the memories of his escapades will never be forgot. From a child to my adulthood I admired his compassion for life and I know he will find my dad (his brother Trygve), and together they will putter away all the cow patties in heaven. Cheers!
