Obituary of Ethel Violet TARVES

TARVES, Ethel Violet (nee Suttle) May 12, 1926- Calgary, Alberta November 20, 2013 – Calgary, Alberta Ethel Tarves, beloved wife of Gordon Tarves of 64 years, passed away at the Belcher Chartwell Senior Residence on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the age of 87 years with her husband Gordon by her side. Gordon and Ethel moved to a place west of Millarville and lived there for many years enjoying the country life and making many new friends along the way. Ethel was a member of the Horticultural Society, Square Butte Ladies Association and Christ Church Millarville Senior Ladies Guild. In 1992, they moved back to Calgary into Silver Springs and Ethel joined the Calgary Horticultural Club and won third in the senior event of their annual yard competition. Ethel was actively committed to the YWCA and in particular, the Kappa Gamma Group along with many of her life long friends. Ethel was a kind and loving mother who enjoyed working in her garden and being the company of her many friends and relatives. The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate and caring staff at the Belcher Chartwell Senior Residence and the sensitivity of the staff at Unit 62 Foothills Hospital. She leaves to mourn her brother Ted (Linda), daughter Donna (Dave), son Dale (Debra), and sister in law Gwen. Ethel was predeceased by her parents Jack and Maud, her beloved twin sister Maud and her brother Alan. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through .
