Obituary of Roy Henry SCHAAL

1944 – Brooks, AB 2013 – Calgary, AB Roy, beloved husband of Leona Schaal of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the age of 69 years. Roy was born in Brooks, AB on August 10, 1944 but later moved to Gleichen at 8 years old and attended high school in Cluny. After graduating, he moved to Calgary where he worked his first job at a meat packing plant. He quickly moved into the accounting field and worked for a number of years in the Oil and Gas industry. Roy married Leona on October 16, 1965 and they went on to have three boys. He had a passion for fishing, traveling, woodworking, country music, reading and history. He was also a lover of animals and birds spending the best summers by the lake observing nature and building lasting memories with family, which was very important to him. Roy holds a special place in the life of his grandchildren. Roy is survived by his beloved wife, Leona; sons, Derek Schaal (Lisa), Greg Schaal (Shelley), Leonard Randall (Susanne); grandchildren, Justin Randall, Maya Schaal, Mason Schaal; sisters, Harlene Racine, Lil Renneberg (John). Roy was predeceased by his son, Garry Schaal; grandson, Sam Randall; and brother, Albert Schaal.
