Obituary of Simon AU

AU, Simon November 10, 1934 – Hong Kong, China October 27, 2013 – Calgary, Alberta Simon Au, was born in Hong Kong on November 10, 1934. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at the age of 78. Simon was a kind, generous, punctual, loyal and loving father with a zest for life. He shared 52 wonderful years with his wife Anna, and will be dearly missed by family and friends. His early years were spent in Hong Kong where he was an avid swimmer, tennis and soccer player. He had a passion for sports, fishing, watercolour painting, daily ritual of swimming at the Crowfoot Y and enjoyed coffee with friends; as well as being the biggest fan attending countless activities of his grandchildren’s such as hockey, football, and Irish dance competitions. In the past few years their puppy Sasha brought light and joy to their lives. Simon leaves precious memories to be cherished. Simon is survived by his loving and life partner Anna; and was extremely proud of his children: James (Nova), grandson Brandon (Melissa), step-grandson Trenton Broens; Helen (Don Fraser); and Eleana (Mike Palumbo), granddaughters Santyna and Alexia, and grandson Michael. He is also survived by sisters Susan & Christine, and brother David. A Celebration of Life for Simon will be held on Monday, November 4th, 2013 at 10:00 AM at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North). Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery (3219 – 4 Street N.W.). Friends and relatives are invited for a reception at Chapel of the Bells following the graveside service.
