Obituary of Harley Douglas SCHILTZ

October 4, 1979 – Calgary, Alberta July 20, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta With great sadness, the family of Harley Schiltz announces his sudden passing on July 20, 2019 at the age of 39 due to advanced heart disease. Harley was born at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB. The second child of Gerald Schiltz and Karen Atkins. Harley was raised in Calgary until his early teens, and then he lived with his dad in Saskatoon, SK. He was lovingly raised and co-parented by both sides of his family. Harley readily made friends, had a kind heart, was compassionate by nature, was witty with an amazing sense of humour that could crack even the hardest of hearts. He had many life long friends who will miss him dearly. Harley was passionate about watches and collected, rebuilt, repaired, and shared them though his aptly named project, “It’s About Time.” He will be deeply missed by his elder sister Marie-Eve and her children Carl and Tamara; and his trusted loyal brother Ryan Schiltz. He will be remembered and always in the hearts of his extended family, Grandma Maureen Atkins (Ralph Rouleau); Aunts & Uncles Carol (Brian) McConville, Donna (Lorne) Spooner, Laurie (Gord) Hauck, Susan Atkins, Doug (Julie) Atkins; Cousins, Shannon (Tim) Locke, and son Jayden; Charmaine McConville, Scott (Delena) McConville, and sons Brett and Tyler; Darnel McConville, and son Justin (Joshua Ellis) Burr-Ellis, Zandra (Rich) Knibbs and children Trinity, Joshua, and Ashley; Candace (Jay) Atwood, Stephen Hauck (Beatrice Prcic), Joshua (Zoe) Birch-Gentles, and Jeremy Birch-Gentles, PJ Atkins and Hayley Atkins. Harley was predeceased by his grandparents Frank and Martha Schiltz; Grandma Frances Atkins, Grandpa Hugh Atkins; Aunt Carol McConville; and last but not least, his Canine family Elmo and Miss Piggy who were like his children. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY , on Friday, August, 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
