KOROLUK, Patricia Anne (nee Makar) December 15, 1938 – Drumheller, AB October 17, 2013 – Calgary, AB Patricia Anne Koroluk passed away peacefully on October 17, 2013 in Calgary with her loved family at her side at the age of 74 years. Patricia was born December 15, 1938 in Drumheller and moved to Edmonton in 1942. She was always active in music and the arts. With the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra she played the violin for 13 years, earning the position of First Violin. After marrying her husband Alexander in 1968, they settled in Calgary to raise their family. In 1978, Patricia, Al and their daughters moved to Medan, Indonesia for 3.5 years due to Al’s job in the oil Industry. Upon returning to Calgary, Pat was an active parent, welcoming the friends of the kids into their home all of the time. Once the girls grew up, Patricia’s enjoyment came from painting and her music. She eventually formed a successful string quartet that stayed together for many years. Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Alexander; daughters, Nicole (Lance) Yanke of Calgary, Jodi Koroluk of Calgary; sister-in-law Jean Makar of Lethbridge; two grandchildren Spencer Yanke and Taylor Yanke, both of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews. Patricia was predeceased by her parents John Makar in 1999 and Anna Makar in 2011; two brothers Robert in 2003 and Donald in 2011; sister-in-law Emily in 2007. We love you Mom. Your big heart and sense of humour will be greatly missed by all those who had the opportunity to know you. Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Rite will be held at St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 9831- 75 Street, Edmonton, AB on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
