Obituary of Annita IANNATTONE

June 17, 1931 – Sant’ Andrea del Garigliano, Frosinone, Italy April 21, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta Annita Iannattone, beloved wife of the late Biagio Iannattone of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the age of 86 years. Annita was born June 17, 1931 to Carminella Mazzarella and Domenico Antonio Rossi in Sant’Andrea del Garigliano, Frosinone, Italy. She was the second youngest of four sisters. In 1953 she married Biagio and they started a family. Antonia and Giuseppina were born in Sant’Andrea. Biagio immigrated to Canada April 1957. Annita and the girls joined him in December of 1958, accompanying her was her younger sister Pasqualina. They arrived in Medicine Hat and later moved to Calgary where their son Gerardo was born. Annita worked at a variety of jobs. Her last and favourite job was working at Eaton’s Cafeteria as a short order cook. What she held most dear was being wife, mother and grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her three children and their spouses, Antonia and Domenic, Giuseppina and Tony, Gerardo and Diana.; her cherished grandchildren, Laura, Alessandra, Rita, Lisa, Stephanie, Gianmarco and Michael; and two great-grandchildren Sofia and Benjamin. Annita was predeceased by her husband Biagio, her sisters Maria D’Arpino and Pia Galasso. Annita has one surviving sister and brother-in-law Pasqualina and Biase Giase and sister-in-law Carolina Iannattone all of Medicine Hat. She is also survived by her numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, Australia, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland and the United States. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
