Condolences
We spent a month with Jeanette and Les in New Zealand. The best Holiday I’ve ever had. Because Les was such a nice man and great company. He will be sadly missed by us both.

To Jeanette, Laraine, Colin and family,
My deepest condolences to you and your family, it was very sad to hear about Les’s passing. I attended the touching memorial yesterday to say goodbye to a friend that I first met in 2001 while sharing office space on the same floor. Les & I would trade fishing stories and discuss geological prospects. We always talked about going out fishing together but for some reason or another never did. This morning I went out fishing in Les’s honour and caught and released a 24″ Brown Trout, that fish was for you. May you always find that perfect fishing spot and tight lines forever.

Dear Jeanette, Laraine, Colin and family,
I was indeed shocked and saddened to learn of the sudden passing of your beloved, husband, father, grandfather. My deepest sympathies go out to all of you as you adjust to life without Les’s physical presence with you. But hold fast to all the wonderful memories of your life together for so many wonderful years. Keep him in your hearts and daily conversations to always be surrounded by his love.

Dear Laraine and Family: We are so saddened to hear of your loss of such a special person.
Our hearts are with you. How special that you share and carry on his love of geology Laraine.
Dear Jeanette and family,
Debbie and I are truly saddened by Les’s death. Les was a good friend and mentor and was always available to discuss the current stage of affairs in the oil patch. I will miss his insight and although many years have passed I always welcomed seeing him at every opportunity. I have so much enjoyed my occasional encounters with Laraine in the industry and saw the intuition and brilliance that was a reflection of Les and his tremendous career as an “oil finder”. I will never forget my days with Les at Kissinger as he was truly a great colleague and teacher of the mystical art of being a successful petroleum geologist.
His passing is reminder to live our lives to the fullest as he exemplified as a husband , father, grandfather, a true outdoorsman and good friend. Les’s memory will always remain with us.
With deepest sympathy,
Warren and Debbie

We were both shocked when we heard the news of Les’ passing. Our sincere condolences to Jeanette and family.
Les was a kind and gentle man. We enjoyed our chats around the campfire at Ridge Riders and his presence will be missed very much.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
We were saddened to hear of Les’ passing. Shirley & Marshall told us of enjoyable visits they had with the two of you. Sounds like you have enjoyed you life in Alberta and family times. Thinking of you at this time, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Jeanette & Family:
Shocked to hear this sad news. Bill, while Exploration Manager at Tenneco Oil, ad the pleasure of interviewing and hiring Les in his graduating year at the University of Saskatchewan. Bill spotted the attributes of strong work ethic of a Saskatchewan farm boy with good academics an inquiring mind.
It was a pleasure to mentor Les, who soon demonstrated his ability to translate his university and post university geological training to finding oil and gas. He had a “nose” for finding Oil!
Equally important was his likeable, calm nature whether in or out of the office environment. One of Bill’s favourite guys; our prayers are with you all.
