Condolences
I am so so sorry for your loss. I only knew Lyle for a short period, but quickly understood that he was a kind and special person.
He will be greatly missed at dinner on Wednesdays at 1835.
We are so sorry to hear of your loss – our condolences to all of your family.
Lyle and I met when we were in grade 12 in Viking, my youngest brother Lee married Lyle’s youngest sister Louise. Unfortunately we lost Lee nearly two years ago – it is so sad to loose such young people. We are so sorry to hear such sad news – we know how difficult it is.
Our thoughts are with you.

I have so many memories of Lyle and me as teenagers growing into young men in Viking. The things we did together will always be held close to my heart but I guess that we waited too long to get together to reminisce about them and now we will have wait until the end of this journey.
He and I took a number of road trips together with the most memorable one to Vancouver in my little red sports car. One of my favourite Lyle stories is the time that I went to Halifax on the train. Lyle offered to drive me to the station in my car and then take it back to my house. When I got home three weeks later I was shocked to find that my car had many thousands of miles more on the speedometer than when I left.
“Where did you go?” I asked him. Lyle just smiled with his slightly crooked grin that incongruously turned down at the corners. He looked at me through his carefully combed lock of unruly hair, shrugged and said, “Mexico,” as he walked away.
I’ll see you at road’s end my friend,
Ride well and Godspeed

I was saddened to hear Lyle had passed away. Lyle was a real live-wire as a young man in Viking. I met Lyle, Richard Mack and John Crawley when I worked on the Viking News. We had great times hanging out in the Chinese cafe, building a boat in Mack’s garage and enjoying each other’s company. Lyle was always up for fun and adventure. May you cherish good memories of him as I will.
