Condolences
I received the notification of your mom’s passing through my school email. I am so very sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. How lucky to have her in your lives for such a long time. I knew Annette through a friendship with her children. I know Annette gave a lot of herself to the children she taught and to each school district she worked for. May she rest in peace and may her beautiful spirit remain in your hearts forever.
Sincerely,
Shawn Duncan
Mme DeChamplain Family: My condolences and I recall when Mme DeChamplain attended the Visitation for my late father on 31st. January, 1994 who was buried from the Lutheran Church of the Cross the following day. My late parents Norman P. Pallesen and Florence Mannix Pallesen knew the Plotkins family and Lucielle attended St. Mary’s school with my late sisters. I have sent along a Mass card to Lucielle, I remain, Peter Pallesen. Calgary, Alberta.
Annette was a special grandmother and one of the greatest great grandmothers to our family. She was a classy lady and always very witty and smart. She would always make me laugh and was a kind and gentle soul. She meant a lot to all of us and we are sorry that she is gone, but we know her gentle spirit will be with us always. Rest in peace.

Mes plus sinceres condoleances. Your mother was my daughter grade 2 teacher. That is how we started our education in the French Immersion program. She also encouraged me to become a French Immersion teacher. I was at St.Gerard school for 29 years and still teach after retiring in 2006. Your mother was a wonderful teacher, person and friend. She was a real lady. She laughed a lot, encouraged people and loved her student. We will always have fond memories. Rest in peace ma bell.

Dear Mme DeChamplain Family
Mme DeChamplain was my grade one teacher at St Luke’s in the 70s. She became a family friend over the years. Each Christmas I am reminded of her beautiful way with the little brass ornament engraved from her that I still cherish 35 years later. Living overseas for the past 15 years ( now in Australia ) I was fortunate enough to see her on my home visits and she met my young family. Forever MMe DeChamplain, always insisting I speak French to her, I will remember always as such a special part of my life. I only hope my children can have such an amazing caring teacher as a part of their primary years. Aurevoir Mme we are so fortunate to have had you in our lives. xoxoxo Bridget Wouts
So very sorry to hear of Annette’s passing. We were old friends and neighbours from the early years in Forest Lawn. With Heartfelt Sympathy, Audrey Smith and Family
Dolores and I extend our sincere condolences to the family on the passing of Annette. Annette was our oldest son’s grade one teacher in the mid 1970’s as well as a colleague of mine in the Calgary Catholic School District within the French Immersion program. Annette was the lead teacher for the French immersion program at St. Luke School when I was principal there and the school offered three programs – English, French Immersion and Special Education. She could be counted on for leadership, example and devotion to students and fellow teachers. Au revoir Annette, tu as bien méritée ta récompense éternelle!
Annette and her sister, Susan, and I spent our junior and high-school years at Sacred Heart Convent in Legal, AB. We had many tales to recount of those memories in later years in Arizona. Annette, with her beautiful singing voice, will surely be singing with the choir of angels. Sympathy to the family is also extended by Therese Coulombe Leblanc.
I am saddened to hear about the passing of Annette. I taught with her in the early 1970’s at St. Bernard and St. Charles School as part of the French Immersion program of the Calgary Catholic School Board. She taught grade 2 while I taught grade 3. She was a very caring teacher and had a wonderful sense of humour. She was generous in sharing her ideas as an experienced educator. My condolences go out to her family.

I felt privileged to be allowed to call Annette De Champlain an Aunt even though she was really my cousins Aunt. My parents, Wilf and Yvonne, moved to Calgary in 1969 with my sisters and my self, and we were made welcome by the de Champlain family. Aunty Annette’s hospitality and her joy made the time special. I especially remember the Bar-B-Q’s and her Onion Soup Bread which she taught me to make. This has become one of my own family’s favourites and provides an opportunity to tell all about my Aunt. Please accept my condolences.
