Obituary of Frances May HORNBY

December 9, 1912 – Quill Lake, SK August 31, 2013 – Calgary, AB It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Fran, on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the age of 100 years. In her early years, Fran was a successful hairdresser and salon owner. In her forties, she became a teacher with the CBE and loved teaching and felt it was the “best profession in the world”. She lived her life with zest and we will miss her feisty, indomitable spirit. Fran leaves to mourn sons Mark and daughter-in-law Leoma and Dick and daughter-in-law Kathy; daughter Marilyn and son-in-law Les; grandchildren Brent, Jason, Tyler, Jill, Emily and Liam; as well as 3 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. The family extends our sincere gratitude to the Bethany Care Centre in Cochrane for their loving care.
