Obituary of Joseph Samuel Malcolm ACHESON

ACHESON, Joseph Samuel Malcolm August 8, 1938 – Hamilton, ON August 29, 2013 – Calgary, AB Mr. Joseph “Joe” Acheson, beloved husband of the late Ilene Rose Acheson (nee Heikkila) passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the age of 75 years. Joseph Samuel Malcolm Acheson was born August 8, 1938 in Hamilton, ON to Gladys and Joseph Acheson. Joe enjoyed his younger years with his sister Ruth growing up in the Toronto area and later moving to Calgary, AB where Joseph met the love of his life who became his cherished bride Ilene Rose Heikkila on May 24, 1969 becoming his enteral soul mate for which he has reunited with. Joe was a true family man. His love and dedication grew stronger with each passing day making him the proudest father and in later year’s grandfather. Joe had a kindness for dogs and he was always prepared making sure he had treats in his pocket to share with any he may encounter in his travels. Joe was a proud and loyal employee of the Molson’s Brewery for eighteen years working the production line until his retirement in October of 1994 which enabled him to spend more quality time with his growing family. Joe has left a legacy of cherished memories that will be shared for generations to come. Joe is survived by his two sons and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Heather and David and Charlene; his grandchildren Derek, Catherine and Clara; his sister and brother-in-law Ruth and Wayne Harrison of Monkton, ON; his three sister-in-laws Jean (Jim) Thomas, Ethel Pinney and Elsie Beddow; as well numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, co-workers and the Conn family in Ontario. Joe was predeceased by his loving wife Ilene on March 11, 2003; along with his parents Gladys and Joseph Acheson. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 2:00p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through .
