Obituary of Roland Aime LAMBERT

Roland Lambert of Calgary passed away peacefully on Friday, August 16, 2013 at the age of 89 years.
Roland was born in Beaumont, Alberta, the eldest child of Joseph and Alice Lambert (nee Hinse). He married Georgette (nee Bérubé) on April 11, 1950, and they shared fifty-seven wonderful years together until her passing on April 21, 2007.
Roland began his professional career in 1948 as principal of the five room school in Beaumont and became principal of Salisbury High School when it opened in 1953. He completed a doctorate in 1962 and accepted a professorship at the University of Calgary in 1963 where he went on to hold various positions including Associate Dean of Education and Head of the Department of Educational Psychology.
Roland was fiercely proud of his family. Roland is survived by his five children, Linda (Harold Whittaker), Bernard (Caroline), Richard (May), Martin (Carmen) and Venita (Ross Matthews); his grandchildren, Denis, Kevin, Brianne (Jason Tauber), Paul (Sonia), Shannon (Matt Robson), Michael, Alison, Warren, Nicolette and Laura; great-grandson Miles Tauber; and by his sister Muriel Lambert. Besides his loving wife Georgette, he was also predeceased by his brother Armel Lambert.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church (Corner of Northmount Drive & Northland Drive N.W.) on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens (Lower Springbank Road and 17 Ave S.W.).
