Obituary of Gordon Milan Babe CECIL

1956 – Morley, AB 2013 – Morley, AB It is with great sadness that we announce that Gordon Milan “Babe” Cecil of Morley, AB, was called home by our Creator on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the age of 57 years. Milan was born on August 6, 1956 in Morley, AB where he lived his whole life with a strong sense of traditional culture. Milan received his education at Morley School and worked at various places for the community. This included Morley Cement Plant in the 80’s and Stoney Tribal Police in the 90’s. He had a passion for sports such as hockey and fastball. In his later years, Milan coached the first Women’s Fastball team in Morley. He was a kind and humble man with a sense of humor that everyone will miss. Milan leaves to mourn the mother of his children, Bernice; his children, Amanda, Sabrina (Elliott), Zerlina, Fawn (Lorenze), Karry and Gordena (Reggie); 19 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; his siblings John, Franklin, Irby, Clarence (Margaret), Marvalene (Justin) and his adopted sister Yolanda Big Stony; also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunts and Uncles from the Abraham, Big Stony, Dixon, Wesley-Beaver, Rain, Wesley, Twoyoungmen and Mackinaw Families. Milan was predeceased by his mother Eveline on March 9, 1989; father Gordon on March 28, 1992; and brother David on March 30, 2003. Wake Services will be held at the residence of the late Milan Cecil (Morley, AB) on Wednesday, August 14, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at Morley United Church (Morley, AB) on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Big Stony Cemetery (Morley, AB).
