Condolences
Just got to know of Al’s demise this fall. Very sad indeed.
Worked with Al in Paris and Nigeria from 2001 to about 2002. What a great guy. He invited me and my wife to Canada in 2004 and encouraged us to immigrate. Now I made it to Calgary and finally got in touch with Jay who told me the news.
What a great guy Al was. Miss him. Love the guy to bits. He showed me everything. taught me several things.
Bless you Al. May your soul continue to rest in peace.
Jay, Dan and Nathan,
Words can’t express my sadness for you and all your family. I didn’t get a chance to know Al very well, but I always looked forward to the stories Art would tell me of his adventures with Al. I am always thinking of you guys and hoping you are all well. If you need anything I will do my best to be there.
*hugs*
Melissa, Tyler-Dean and Damien-Cael

They say time heals all wounds – my wish for you is that those special memories each of you have of Alan will make the time easier to endure.
Alan was a big man with a bigger heart. You could hear his laugh clear across a room, but as important, his genuine care and concern when he asked how you were made you feel special.
He will be missed. Our thoughts are with you at this very difficult time.

Dear Jay and Family

It was with sadness Ches and I read about Al’s passing. We remember his dedication to Parkland Cubs & Scouts. He was a man who was always quick to smile.
We have very visual memory of him striding across the Parkland ridge above Fish Creek Park.
Dear Jay, Nathan, Dan and Corina, Kaitlyn and Makenna, and all Cooper Family.
We are so sorry to hear of Alan’s passing. Thinking back to my visits to Auntie Pearl and Uncle Eric’s place, I’ll remember Alan as a wonderful guy, fun to be around, and always kind to everyone. Our prayers are with you.

I was sad to hear about Alan’s passing. He was a special cousin. I have so many memories of our childhood growing up together in Granthams – fishing for shiners at the wharf, our picnics on the beach at Sechelt, going to Sunday school in Uncle Eric’s truck, and those wonderful birthday parties at Grandma’s restaurant. More recently, I treasure the memories of my trip to Alaska thanks to Al and Jay’s generosity. I pray for peace and comfort for Jay, Nathan, and Dan and his family at this time.
Dear Jay, Nathan, Dan and Corina,Kaitlyn and Makenna;
as well as, all our Cooper Cousins, and your respective family members:
Our love, huuuuugs and prayers, go out to each one of you! May you experience an abundant measure of our God’s peace, and comfort, as you attempt to navigate through this difficult time of Alan’s passing.
My remembrance of Alan is one of a person of quiet strength, and dignity. A role model, he has been! Much loved he is!
Fred has composed a poem, which we would like to submit, hopefully, for your comfort. We send it with love :)
Forever Mine
I see it now, dear Lord.
I, clearly, see it now.
You are the mighty One
Who’s always on my side.
You came into my life,
And now, You never leave.
My life belongs to You,
And yet, I am so free!
Without You Lord
I’d be forever lost.
But now, forever Yours,
And You, forever mine.
Our thoughts are with Jay and family. Al will be so missed.

There are only a handful of people who come into your world and touch your life in so many ways that bring big smiles and laughter to your face and create a bond of lasting love and friendship. Alan was one of them. He was a great cousin and dear friend. He had an opinion on everything. No matter if it were food, politics or travel, he voiced his opinion and we loved him early for that.
His passion for living life to the fullest was evident in everything he did. He loved to travel, explore new places and then come home and show us every picture he took! He had a generosity of spirit when it came to helping others less fortunate and a determination to make the world he lived in a better place for us all.
We are sad to lose Alan at a time when he had so much he still wanted to do. Now we have just our memories. May he rest in peace and may Jay, Nathan, and Dan and Corrine and their children, find solace in the beauty of a “Dad and Grandfather” whom they shared with us all. Love Nancy and Les
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Jay.

Our hearts are filled with sadness as we learned of Alan’s passing. It is in the Summertime that my memories of Alan coming flooding through. So many hours spent swimming and diving off Grantham’s wharf. Uncle Eric driving the 10 ” Katz and Jammer” kids to Sunday School and thrilling us by racing over the bump at the Masonic Hall or driving at full speed down Grantham’s Wharf. We were sure we were going over the edge.
It is Alan’s smile that I remember the most and the way he liked to tease.
To Jay, Dan & Corrine and their children and to Nathan we send our condolences. We will all miss a wonderful man.
Love, Marion & Barrie
Our thought’s and prayers are with you Jay and your family at this sad time.
Blessings Alec and Diane

Carol and I are still in disbelief that this is possible, missing him is an understatement. When it came to diving he did everything I dreamed of!!
I will be thinking you and the family every day.
Love Gord & Carol
Dear Jay, Dan, Nathan and family. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. Alan was such a dear kind man. I’m sure all of us (his cousins and sibblings)will remember the endless years we shared together running free in Granthams and Gibsons. I cherish my time studying and SCUBA diving with Alan during our time together at BCIT.
