Obituary of Larry Wade SCHUMAKER

January 19, 1965 – Calgary, Alberta July 17, 2013 – Calgary, Alberta Wade Schumaker, beloved husband of Linnet Schumaker, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the age of 48 years. Wade is survived by his loving wife of twenty-two years, Linnet; his daughter Rebecca (Alex); son Matthew; father Larry; sister Kari Bulger (Colin), niece Keanna, nephew Patrick; sister Terrill Schumaker, niece Breanna, nephew Dustan; and their families. Wade is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Howard and Jeanette Homan; brother-in-law Howard (Tracy), their daughters, Megan and Madison and son Mason. Wade was predeceased by his loving mother Carol in 2004. Wade was a son, father, wonderful husband, mentor and great friend to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. His smile, wit and complete honesty are just some of the attributes that drew so many people to him. Wade loved his animals, fishing, cooking and restoring his 1965 Volkswagen bug. Another of his many favorite past times was playing hockey, so it’s fitting that the moments leading up to his passing he was “playing the game” with his friends. Wade had the good fortune of being surrounded by many family members and friends, especially lifelong friends, Cam Richardson and his wife Kathy. Wade was employed with Trans Canada Turbines where he made many friends and was well respected by his co-workers. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, July 21, 2013 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Wade’s mother Carol Schumaker, as this would be his wish, to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, www.albertacancer.ca. The family would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers at the Foothills Hospital, Fire Department and EMS. A special thank you to Alex Dandonneault for all of his care at the time of the emergency.
