Obituary of Edward Athol JAMES

Edward “Eddie” James was born January 25, 1932, in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. He died of heart failure at Calgary, Alberta, on July 11, 2013, nearly one year after the death of his beloved spouse, June.
He is survived by sons Andrew and Ian James, sister Dorothy Stewart, daughter-in-law Marcha Davidson and grandchildren Ella and Cameron James. Eddie attended Acadia University, graduating in 1952 with a B.Sc. and bronze medal in geology. He married June Marie McLeod in 1954, and worked as a geologist in the oil industry in Ontario, Western Canada, Australia, Indonesia, Philippines and Kenya. Eddie’s own company – E.A. James Gas & Oil Ltd. – was his mainstay from 1978 on.
Eddie played the bagpipes, guitar, violin and the stock market.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (703 Heritage Dr. S.W.) on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family extends its gratitude to Eddie’s loyal and loving caregivers Rahel and Zareena.
