Obituary of Kelly Ann HARCOTT

HARCOTT, Kelly Ann February 18, 1998 – Calgary, AB July 4, 2013 – Calgary, AB Kelly Ann Harcott, beloved daughter of Thomas and Shelley Harcott and little sister to Peter of Calgary, AB passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at the tender age of 15 years old. Kelly was a positive and enthusiastic person who loved life to the fullest. She saw only the good in everyone and everything. She was a wonderful daughter who brought out the best in her parents and everyone she touched. She loved her family with all her heart and she knew her family loved her the way no words could describe. Kelly loved traveling with her family especially to Hawaii and London, England which truly were her two favorite places to be. She was born in Calgary, AB and moved with her family to Winnipeg, MB from 2002 until 2005 upon the family returning back to Calgary, AB. Kelly loved music and some of her greatest and special memories were attending the Justin Bieber concert and Maroon 5 concert. Kelly enjoyed being part of the Urban Dance Projects for many years. She loved dance, as did she love baking, knitting and crocheting which she taught herself and was able to make many beautiful blankets, scarves, etc. Kelly truly was an avid animal lover and it showed as all animals small and large that were distinctively drawn to her unique qualities of compassion, kindness and her gentle spirit that made her so special but she especially had a tenderness and love for all dogs. Kelly loved all her friends and with her huge charismatic personality and the positive traits that she constantly displayed she was able to make friends wherever she went. But there was one very special bond that stood out from all and it was created at a young age and continued to grow as they did into beautiful young women. This cherished friendship which was more of a sisterhood and the many memories that were created were shared with her life long and very special friend Kristen. Kelly attended and was a student at Ecole Madeleine d’Houet School in N.W. Calgary. Her completion of grade nine and all her amazing accomplishments that were achieved made us all so proud of Kelly as well her former teachers were excited for her to continue to expand her education and growth with her up coming high school career. Kelly was baptized within our families faith in 1998, her first communion was in early May of 2006 and the blessed event of her Confirmation within our church and faith was on November 2, 2009 and as Kelly grew older her faith and love for God grew stronger. Our family would like to give a special acknowledgement to the Sunstrum family who kindly and lovingly embraced our daughter as one of their own thus allowing Kelly to be blessed with a second home and loving family. Words alone can’t express our continual appreciation of all the love, kindness and support we have received within our community, our faith, our family and friends during this difficult time and the continual guidance for our family in the future. Kelly is survived by her loving parents Thomas and Shelley who will be forever proud of their beautiful baby girl; and by her big brother Peter; and her grandmother Roberta LaFontaine of Rouses Point, NY and by her grandparents Bill and Caroline Harcott of Calgary, AB. Sadly, her grandfather Peter LaFontaine of Rouses Point, NY passed away on the same day July 04, 2013 as his beloved granddaughter Kelly making the double loss even more difficult to understand and accept. Kelly was taken from her family, her friends, her community and her faith far too soon in her young life. Her excitement for the future and all the untraveled adventures it held can’t and shouldn’t be forgotten in Kelly’s memory continue to grow, learn and explore all of life’s mysteries and in doing so you will honor her memory. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 2 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through .
