Obituary of Donald Lee McEACHERN

McEACHERN, Donald “Lee” 1935 – Fort Saskatchewan, AB 2013 – Cochrane, AB Lee was born in Fort Saskatchewan, AB and passed peacefully on June 29, 2013 in Cochrane AB at the age of 78 years. Lee grew up in Lamont AB. He worked in the oil patch, spent time working at the family garage in Hylo in1954, and then settled in the Edson area in the late 1950’s. Lee was a mechanic and then owned and operated his own business “Lee’s Steamer Service” and was well known in the Pine Creek and Edson area. He was a well-known welder and mechanic with an extraordinary ability to fix anything you put in front of him. He was a talented guitar player and spent much of his youth and his later years playing at various dances, as well as the Parkland Lodge and the Pioneer Cabin. In 2012, Lee moved to Cochrane to be closer to family. Lee will be lovingly remembered for his thoughtfulness and deep love for his family. He was not a man of many words, but he was wise and witty and spoke from the heart. He is survived by his stepchildren Shauna (Scott), Stephen (Shannon), Kerri (Mike) and seven grandchildren; Brett, Kade, Liam, Kyle, Julia, Jack and Sam who loved him dearly and fondly called him “Papa Lee”. He is also survived by his siblings Chester, Victor, Larry, Faye and Dale and many special nephews and nieces. Lee was predeceased by his loving wife of 20 years, Carole and parents, Gordon and Charlotte McEachern. Funeral Services will be held on July 3, 2013 at the Pioneer Cabin (4836-7th Avenue, Edson, AB) at 11:00 am. A Graveside Service to be advised at a later date.
